No, with our exothermic technology we do not recommend the use of heat.
For best results, we recommend using Calura oxidizers with Calura coloring.
We recommend using a 9%/30 volume developer for white coverage with thick or resistant hair types only. As long as you have formulated correctly to the characteristics of the hair with the correct dwell time and shade, you will not experience 'hot roots'. The characteristics of the hair refer to the texture, density, elasticity and porosity of hair.
We do not recommend adding accelerators to our coloring.
No, because we use keratin from sheep's wool.
Our volume 10 generates the lowest amount of heat, which is not a sufficient amount of heat to allow the cuticle to open sufficiently.
- For toning services and with the use of our Pastel Series.
- For shine and hydration when mixed with Clear
- Use on damp hair for a semi-permanent option
For best longevity, we recommend using a 6%/20 volume developer to balance color or refresh lengths and ends.
Calura Gloss
We recommend using our Calura Gloss oxidizers with Calura Gloss shades.
Calura Care & Styling Color Fixer will aid in better color longevity as it begins the process of lowering pH and reducing swelling of the cuticle scales.
You can use Calura Permanent Demi Effect Lotion with Calura Gloss, but you will get lightening.
Yes, the same shade recommendations and instructions given for Calura can be used for Calura Gloss. Please see our technical manual for pre-coloring recommendations.
Yes
All the ingredients will be diluted and therefore the shade, the longevity and all the benefits will be diluted with the viscosity. Dilution must be done with Clear.

Osmosis Complex technology has the ability to regulate and diffuse moisture allowing your hair to always have the ideal moisture balance. This proven technology takes moisture from the environment and transfers it to the hair releasing any excess moisture into the air.

Yes, we recommend using our complete system for optimal and guaranteed performance.
We recommend a maximum of 6% / 20 volume only for scalp applications with our bleaches.
No, our Power Shades are for off-scalp application only.
This technology strengthens the capillary bonds and protects the surface of the hair during chemical treatments. It also replenishes and prevents the loss of natural lipids in the hair. The level of protection varies depending on the concentration of hydrogen peroxide present; as it increases, the built-in protection also intensifies.

Follow the recommendations for color or bleach without taking into account the amount of SMART Concentrate. Then add the SMART Concentrate according to the amount of color/bleach used and the instructions provided.
For example: 30 ml of color + 30 ml of oxidant + 1 part (2.7 ml) of SMART Concentrate.
Please review and follow the guidelines for keratin treatment. The components of keratin treatments can vary. It is best to consult the manufacturer of the keratin treatment.
Yes, We have never tested SMART products on synthetic hair extensions, but they are compatible with natural hair extensions and of good quality. For tape or keratin extensions, please consult and follow the manufacturer's recommendations.
SMART products do not contain ingredients of animal origin and are not tested on animals.
1) Bleach (adding SMART Concentrate)
2) Shampoo (using SMART Shampoo)
3) Toner
4) Apply SMART Conditioner
The hair will have a noticeable difference after the first application.
We do not recommend adding SMART to Calura Gloss because it contains very low levels of alkalinity; the SMART Concentrate could dilute it further resulting in very poor longevity and even deviation of the hue. We rather recommend adding the SMART Concentrate to your lightener formula prior to applying your Gloss formula. It can be added to your FunkHue Formula.
The Pro formula contains an extra benefit which is a pH indicator dye. This dye changes the colour of the shampoo lather when harmful chemical residues are present on the hair surface and scalp. The retail formula does not contain a pH indicator. Taking the Pro home will not cause any harm, but the formula was created for stylists.
No. The SMART Shampoo uses milder detergents and can be used frequently. Complementing the mild detergents, it contains natural ingredients that have purifying properties which decongest the scalp from excess oils, stimulates scalp blood vessels circulation and offers nutrients to the hair bulb.
Best practice recommendations for maximum protection and repair is to use both. However, SMART Developers are a must to provide protection and consistent benefits when lightening if the SMART Concentrate is not available.
Home care for pre-lightened hair: - Use the SMART Shampoo retail. Alternate SMART Conditioner and SMART Treatment once every week. Home care for coloured hair: - Use the SMART Shampoo retail and SMART Conditioner once a week. - Replace SMART Conditioner by SMART Treatment once every two weeks.
FunkHue
FunkHue contains direct dyes, and oxidizers are not required. An oxidizer will not create longer lasting results.
If needed, we recommend using our Blacklight Cream Bleach with 10 volume (3%) oxidizer to remove color. If the color remains after the lightening service, we recommend neutralizing the tone with the appropriate Calura permanent shade.
Acid formulations, pH between 4 and 6.5
Each box of FunkHue is colored to show results (per lightening recommendations. Please see our FunkHue reference guide)
We do not recommend mixing with our Calura Permanent Hair Color.
Processing time is 20 minutes. For more depth, treat for up to 30 minutes.
