Process

Separate the hair into 3 sections

  • A horseshoe at the top of the head, making sure to include the parting.
  • A section from the bottom of the horseshoe to the top of the occipital, including the sides.
  • Leaving your last section being form the occipital down.

Lightening Process

  • 1:1 Ratio Blacklight Cream Lightener with 20Vol.(6%) Blacklight Smart Developer and 1 pump per 30g of Smart Bond Protection and Strengthening Concentrate
  • Starting in the second section, at the front hairline, use a diagonal back section with a medium weave that mimics the size of their curl groupings. Backcomb a couple of inches at the base, to create blend.
  • Work through the side section in diagonal back sections. Because this is a dimensional look, we want a blend of natural & highlights. Drop-down between should be at least 2 inches, making sure to connect the piece of each section at the hairline to the next establishing a seamless blend no matter how their hair falls around their face.
  • Continue to the other side working from the front hairline up towards the horseshoe.
  • Starting at the front of the horseshoe section, use a diagonal back section from the parting to the side section. Use your same weaving size to weave out the front hairline. Work from 1 in drop downs growing larger towards the back for a more natural blend. Work side to side for 3-4 sections depending on how much brightness you’d like around the face, continuing to back comb for blend.
  • Once you have added in your desired amount of brightness around the face, use horizontal sections to provide blend at the round of the head shape up to the front of the crown.
  • Continue from the back of the horseshoe section, working up in horizontal sections with a 2 in drop out, gradually getting smaller towards the end of the hairline section.
  • Finish by weaving out the back hairline from the occipital section. Place 2-3 foils depending on density & haircut shape for blend.
  • Let process until desired result, not longer than 30-35 mins after application time.

Slide Rinse with the smart purifying shampoo

Ensure there is no pink foam when you are rinsing to ensure all lightener is washed from your guest's hair.

Equal Parts: Calura Gloss 8-36/8GV + 9-12/9AI + 10 Neutral Brown with Calura Gloss Demi Permanent 7Vol.(2%).

Using the Smart Bond Building Treatment, work into the hair and let sit for 5 minutes. Rinse.
